About Us
Providing Almost Two Decades Of Professional Service To The Equipment Manufacturing Sector
WESTEST was created in 1991 by five organizations: majority shareholder AMC (Agricultural Manufacturers of Canada) [formerly PIMA (Prairie Implement Manufacturers Association)], along with minority shareholders: Manitoba Hydro, Saskatchewan Mining Association, CNH Global, and John Deere.
The purpose then, which continues today, is to provide access to sophisticated physical testing and product performance evaluation services using modern testing equipment under the direction of professional engineers and technologists. Prior to WESTEST’s creation, manufacturers had to rely on laboratories in Eastern Canada or the USA for these services.
WESTEST’s management and technical services are provided by PAMI (Prairie Agriculture Machinery Institute) through a management contract which also allows WESTEST to share expertise and facilities when required.
