Mower testing involves subjecting a mower to tests defined by a variety of regulatory standards and recommended practice.
One of the more universal evaluations contained in these standards consists of lowering an operating mower onto a two-inch-diameter steel pin and confirming that it can operate for two seconds without damaging the mower in a manner dangerous to the operator or a bystander.
Mower manufacturers test to these voluntary standards to ensure their products are safe to the public. WESTEST became involved in mower testing to provide small mower manufacturers with a test facility to ensure their products are safe.
